UB’s MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is dedicated to fostering your growth as a counselor and an individual. Our trauma-informed program is meticulously designed to inspire personal growth, enhance your professional knowledge, and refine your counseling abilities. You’ll explore your values, coping strategies, and boundaries to provide more comprehensive client care. Then, through hands-on clinical experiences, including a 100-hour practicum and two 300-hour internships, you’ll immerse yourself in real-world mental healthcare settings, giving you the unique opportunity to apply your skills.

Please note that, to gain licensure, you’ll need to complete 3000 hours of fieldwork experience in the state where you plan to practice. After completing your program of studies, you will be responsible for satisfying the additional clinical hours necessary to earn legal certification.
